Away at school
You can request online care while you're away at school. Your request follows the same state and clinician-licensure rules as any other Ondoc request, so tell us where you are when you start.
Student insurance
Student coverage is not one plan. It may be a school-sponsored plan, a student-health plan administered by a national insurer, or staying on a parent's commercial plan — select whichever one you actually have, or type its name under "Other" if it isn't listed.

Student health care online
Ondoc handles what students actually need — illness visits, doctor's notes, mental health care, acne, birth control, and refills — with student and commercial plans supported, or self-pay.
How it works
- Pick what you need: a sick visit, a note for class or work, mental health care, acne, birth control, or a refill.
- Search your plan — including student plans such as UnitedHealthcare StudentResources and campus plans administered by supported payers — or choose self-pay.
- A licensed clinician in your state reviews your request, usually the same day.
- Prescriptions go to a pharmacy near campus or near home, whichever you name.
Insurance & cost
Use commercial insurance where it is supported, or self-pay at a flat $50 per approved request. Select insurance or self-pay in care discovery to see Ondoc's current payer status before entering personal information. Member-specific eligibility, active status, and benefits are verified by our insurance verification team. Medicare and Medicaid are not accepted as insurance.
Good to know
- Medicare and Medicaid are not accepted as insurance. Those visits can still continue as self-pay.
