How it works
- Describe your symptoms — burning, urgency, frequency, how long it has lasted, and any prior UTIs.
- A licensed clinician reviews them with your history, allergies, and current medications.
- Treatment is sent to your pharmacy, usually the same day. If a urine culture is useful, it is ordered to a lab near you.
- You are told what to expect and when to follow up. Fever with back pain, vomiting, or pregnancy means you need in-person evaluation.

Burning when you pee, needing to go constantly, going and barely producing anything, pressure low in your belly, or cloudy strong-smelling urine are the symptoms people most often bring to a UTI visit. Those symptoms may warrant an evaluation for a urinary tract infection — they are not proof of one on their own, and several other causes look the same at first.

- “It burns when I pee” — is that a UTI?
- Painful or burning urination is the most common reason people are evaluated for a UTI, and it is often the cause. It can also come from vaginal irritation, an STI, or bladder irritation, so the clinician asks about your symptoms and history rather than assuming. If antibiotics are appropriate, they are sent to your pharmacy; that is a clinical decision, not a guarantee.
- “I have to pee every 10 minutes” — can Ondoc help?
- Yes. Frequency and urgency with little urine coming out are classic lower urinary tract symptoms and are handled in a normal Ondoc visit. Bring how many days it has been going on and whether you have had UTIs before.
- “I think my UTI moved to my kidneys”
- Fever, chills, back or flank pain, or vomiting with urinary symptoms can mean a kidney infection, which needs in-person evaluation rather than an online visit. Please go to urgent care or an emergency department. The same is true if you are pregnant and have urinary symptoms.
- “I need antibiotics for a UTI today”
- A clinician has to evaluate you first — Ondoc does not sell antibiotics and cannot promise a prescription before the visit. When an uncomplicated UTI is diagnosed and a first-line antibiotic fits your history, the prescription goes to your pharmacy the same day.

Can a UTI really be treated online?
Uncomplicated UTIs in non-pregnant adults with classic symptoms are routinely treated by telehealth per IDSA guidance. The clinician screens for red flags (fever, flank pain, pregnancy, recurrent UTIs) and refers in person if needed.
What antibiotic will I get?
First-line options are nitrofurantoin, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, or fosfomycin depending on your history, allergies, and local resistance. The clinician picks based on your case.
When should I be seen in person instead?
Fever, flank or back pain, blood in urine, vomiting, pregnancy, or symptoms not resolving on antibiotics all need in-person evaluation. The clinician will tell you and help arrange it.
Do you take insurance?
Choose insurance during discovery to see current payer status before personal details. Most antibiotic regimens are low-cost generics at the pharmacy.
