About Neck pain

Neck pain is usually musculoskeletal, arising from poor posture, prolonged screen time, sleep position, or minor strain, and resolves within days to weeks with activity, gentle stretching, heat, and NSAIDs. Cervical radiculopathy — when a nerve root is compressed — adds arm pain, numbness, or weakness in a specific distribution. Red flags include trauma, fever, severe progressive weakness, or bowel and bladder symptoms, which warrant urgent evaluation. Persistent neck pain benefits from physical therapy and addressing ergonomic factors at home and work.
