About Pre-travel consultation

A pre-travel consultation reviews destination, duration, accommodations, planned activities, and host-country health risks, then recommends vaccines (routine boosters, hepatitis A/B, typhoid, yellow fever, rabies, Japanese encephalitis, meningococcal as indicated), malaria prophylaxis matched to the chemosensitivity pattern of the region, and prescriptions for traveler's diarrhea and altitude illness when relevant. Visits also cover food and water safety, insect-bite prevention, sexual-health counseling, and pre-existing medical conditions. Ideally scheduled 4–6 weeks before departure to allow vaccine response.
