About Gonorrhea treatment visit

A gonorrhea visit provides confidential testing, treatment, and partner notification. Current first-line treatment for uncomplicated urogenital, rectal, or pharyngeal gonorrhea is a single intramuscular dose of ceftriaxone 500 mg (1 g for weight ≥150 kg). Doxycycline is added when chlamydia coinfection has not been excluded. Pharyngeal gonorrhea requires test-of-cure at 7–14 days; all sites should be retested for reinfection at 3 months. Partner treatment is essential to prevent reinfection and limit antimicrobial resistance.
