About Tension headache

Tension-type headache is the most common primary headache, typically described as a band-like pressure or tightness around the head, mild to moderate in intensity, and not associated with nausea or significant light or sound sensitivity. Episodes may last from 30 minutes to several days. Stress, sleep disruption, poor posture, eye strain, and dehydration are frequent contributors. Treatment of infrequent episodes is with NSAIDs or acetaminophen; preventive measures focus on sleep, hydration, ergonomic adjustments, regular exercise, and stress management, with amitriptyline considered for chronic forms.
