About Premature ejaculation

Premature ejaculation (PE) is ejaculation that consistently occurs sooner than desired, causing personal distress or interpersonal difficulty. It is the most common male sexual complaint and may be lifelong or acquired. Contributing factors include anxiety, relationship dynamics, prostatitis, thyroid disease, and ED. Behavioral techniques such as start-stop and squeeze methods, pelvic floor therapy, and sex therapy are first-line. Pharmacologic options include topical lidocaine/prilocaine and off-label daily or on-demand SSRIs (dapoxetine where available, paroxetine, sertraline).
