Urologists diagnose and treat diseases of the urinary tract and male reproductive system — kidney stones, urinary tract infections (especially recurrent or complicated), benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, erectile dysfunction, male infertility, and vasectomy. They perform cystoscopy, ureteroscopy, prostate biopsy, and minimally invasive and robotic surgical procedures. Female pelvic medicine, pediatric urology, and oncologic urology are major subspecialties.
