Not just abstinence
Goals can be to cut back, drink less, or quit entirely. The Sinclair Method — naltrexone one hour before drinking — has strong evidence for reducing intake without requiring sobriety on day one.

FAQs
Can I get naltrexone online?
Yes. Ondoc treats alcohol use disorder online, and naltrexone is one of the medication options. Book a visit with insurance or $50 self-pay.
What is the Sinclair Method?
The Sinclair Method (TSM) uses naltrexone taken one hour before drinking to gradually extinguish the reward loop. Over months, most patients drink significantly less. Ondoc supports TSM as a valid goal — you don't need to commit to abstinence to start treatment.
Do I need to quit before starting naltrexone?
No. Unlike disulfiram, naltrexone doesn't require abstinence to start and doesn't cause a reaction with alcohol. It reduces cravings and the reward from drinking.
Is alcohol withdrawal dangerous?
It can be. If you drink heavily every day, do not stop suddenly on your own. If you have shaking, confusion, hallucinations or a seizure after cutting back, call 911 or go to an emergency room.
Does insurance cover this?
Most insurance plans cover AUD treatment as behavioral/preventive health. Generic naltrexone is typically a Tier 1 medication ($4–$15/month). Select insurance during discovery to see Ondoc’s current payer status. Member-specific eligibility, active status, and benefits are verified by our insurance verification team.
Will this show up on my record?
AUD treatment is protected health information under HIPAA (and often 42 CFR Part 2). It does not appear on employment or driving records unless you self-disclose or a court orders release.
What if I've tried AA and it didn't work?
That's common. AA works for some people but not everyone. Medication-assisted treatment is an evidence-based alternative that has helped millions cut back or quit without meetings.
