About Pre-employment evaluation

A pre-employment evaluation typically includes a focused history and physical, vital signs, vision and color testing when relevant, a urine drug screen, and a tuberculosis screening (TB QuantiFERON Gold or skin test). Vaccination and immunity documentation often includes MMR, varicella, hepatitis B, Tdap, and seasonal influenza. Some employers also require respirator fit testing, hearing screening, or specific occupational exposure assessments. Findings are reported on standardized forms that document fitness for duty without disclosing protected medical information beyond what is required.
