About Annual wellness exam

An annual wellness visit reviews personal and family history, medications, immunizations, mental health, substance use, sleep, and lifestyle factors, then aligns age- and risk-appropriate screening: blood pressure, lipids, diabetes, colorectal and breast cancer screening, cervical screening, AAA, osteoporosis, lung cancer screening for eligible smokers, and depression and unhealthy alcohol-use screening. It is the highest-yield single visit for preventing disease and is generally covered without cost-sharing by most insurance plans when billed as a preventive service.
