About Frequent urination visit
A frequent urination visit reviews fluid intake, caffeine and alcohol use, medications, nighttime patterns, and associated symptoms (dysuria, urgency, hesitancy, pain). Initial work-up typically includes urinalysis and selected labs (glucose, basic metabolic panel, PSA in older men). Causes range from high fluid intake or UTI to overactive bladder, diabetes, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and pelvic floor disorders. Treatment is matched to the cause — behavioral strategies, bladder training, antimuscarinic or beta-3 agonist medications, or referral for further evaluation.
