About Allergy consultation
An allergy consultation evaluates symptoms across seasonal, perennial, food, drug, and venom triggers; reviews prior reactions and current control; and selects appropriate testing — skin-prick, specific IgE, supervised challenges, or component-resolved diagnostics — based on history. Treatment is matched to severity and trigger: environmental control, second-generation oral antihistamines, intranasal corticosteroids, ocular antihistamines, leukotriene modifiers, and allergen immunotherapy. Patients at risk for anaphylaxis receive epinephrine auto-injectors and a written emergency action plan.
