ESA documentation renewal — reassessment required
Ondoc clinic policy is that ESA documentation is never renewed automatically. Updated or renewal documentation requires a new clinical reassessment and a new clinician determination — a prior attestation is never copied forward.
ESA documentation evaluation — $100 self-pay
The $100 fee is for a clinical evaluation and documentation review. Payment does not guarantee that an ESA letter will be issued.
Ondoc issues ESA documentation only when the treating clinician determines that the applicable clinical and legal requirements are met.
Ondoc clinic policy requires an established clinical relationship and sufficient clinical information before ESA documentation is issued. Additional evaluation, treatment or follow-up may be required, and state law may impose additional requirements.
Ondoc ESA documentation is intended for housing accommodation requests. It does not make an animal a service animal, and it does not grant general public-access or airline rights.
What the evaluation covers
- Reassessment of disability status, functional limitation and disability-related need is required before any updated documentation
- A prior clinician's determination is never reused or auto-renewed
- Applicable state law may require a particular reassessment interval or additional renewal requirements
- An existing housing accommodation does not automatically become invalid on an anniversary date, though a housing provider may ask for current documentation
Frequently asked
Do I have to renew every year?
There is no universal federal expiry rule. Ondoc clinic policy requires clinical reassessment before issuing updated documentation, and housing providers often ask for recent documentation. Your state may also have its own requirements.
Does the $100 fee guarantee a letter?
No. The $100 fee pays for a clinical evaluation and documentation review. Ondoc issues ESA documentation only when the treating clinician determines that the applicable clinical and legal requirements are met, and additional evaluation, treatment or follow-up may be required first.
