ESA letter evaluation for an apartment
Renters who need an assistance animal in an apartment can ask their housing provider for a reasonable accommodation, supported by documentation from a treating clinician. Ondoc's role is the clinical evaluation behind that request — not a guaranteed letter and not an accommodation outcome.
ESA documentation evaluation — $100 self-pay
The $100 fee is for a clinical evaluation and documentation review. Payment does not guarantee that an ESA letter will be issued.
Ondoc issues ESA documentation only when the treating clinician determines that the applicable clinical and legal requirements are met.
Ondoc clinic policy requires an established clinical relationship and sufficient clinical information before ESA documentation is issued. Additional evaluation, treatment or follow-up may be required, and state law may impose additional requirements.
Ondoc ESA documentation is intended for housing accommodation requests. It does not make an animal a service animal, and it does not grant general public-access or airline rights.
What the evaluation covers
- $100 self-pay for the clinical evaluation, or commercial insurance where applicable
- Ondoc clinic policy: documentation requires an established clinical relationship and sufficient clinical information — a one-time administrative request is not enough
- Intended for housing accommodation requests only — not a service-animal certification, and no ADA public-access or airline rights
- Verification requests from a landlord or screening company are handled by an approved staff or provider workflow, with your authorization and the minimum information necessary
Frequently asked
Does the $100 fee guarantee a letter?
No. The $100 fee pays for a clinical evaluation and documentation review. Ondoc issues ESA documentation only when the treating clinician determines that the applicable clinical and legal requirements are met, and additional evaluation, treatment or follow-up may be required first.
What if my landlord asks for a specific form?
Ondoc does not let a third party's own form expand what we disclose. We respond only through our approved verification workflow, with appropriate patient authorization, and we do not routinely disclose diagnosis, records, therapy notes or medication history.
