Formulations your clinician may consider
These are the preparation types Empower compounds for this program. Your clinician chooses the formulation, strength and schedule — there is nothing to pick yourself.
Testosterone cypionate injection (grapeseed oil)
A long-acting injectable base compounded in grapeseed oil, often chosen when a patient does not tolerate other carrier oils.
Testosterone enanthate injection (grapeseed oil)
Another long-acting injectable ester with a similar dosing rhythm to cypionate.
Testosterone propionate injection (grapeseed oil)
A shorter-acting ester; clinicians use it when more frequent, finer adjustment is wanted.
Compounded cypionate / propionate combinations
A blended injectable that pairs a longer and a shorter ester in one preparation.
Testosterone troche
A small lozenge that dissolves between the cheek and gum — no needles.
Testosterone cream
A topical applied daily to the skin, for patients who prefer no injections.
Testosterone nasal gel
An intranasal option with its own short dosing interval.
About compounded medications
Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy for an individual patient. They are not FDA-approved, which means the FDA has not reviewed the compounded preparation itself for safety, effectiveness or quality. Your clinician will talk through whether a compounded formulation is the right choice for you.
What you pay
- Ondoc: $150 self-pay for the clinical evaluation, or your commercial insurance where accepted.
- Empower: the medication cost, billed to you directly by the pharmacy and set by the pharmacy.
The Ondoc fee pays for the clinical evaluation and is non-refundable. A paid evaluation does not guarantee that a prescription will be issued — that is the clinician's decision.
