About Sinus infection visit
Most acute sinusitis is viral and resolves within 7–10 days with supportive care — saline irrigation, oral or topical decongestants for short courses, analgesics, and rest. Bacterial sinusitis becomes more likely with symptoms persisting beyond 10 days without improvement, double-worsening, or severe symptoms with high fever and unilateral facial pain. When antibiotics are indicated, amoxicillin-clavulanate is first-line for adults at standard or high dose, with doxycycline as an alternative for penicillin-allergic patients. Imaging is reserved for complications.
