Yes — Ondoc's clinician panel includes UMR in-network prescribers. We verify your eligibility and network status during intake, before charging your card. If you're not in-network for any reason, you only pay $50 self-pay.

How is my UMR in-network status confirmed?

During intake we run a real-time eligibility check against UMR using your member ID. You see your copay or self-pay fallback before you submit the request.

What if UMR denies the claim?

If UMR denies coverage after the visit, the $50 self-pay rate applies — never a surprise bill. We also email an itemized superbill so you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement if your plan allows.

Why are all UMR primary care doctors booked out for months?

Primary care supply is tight nationally, and narrow-network plans concentrate demand on a small list of providers. Established patients get priority for follow-up slots, leaving new patients on long waitlists.

Can Ondoc be my long-term primary care?

No — we're built for refills and acute, simple issues. Use us as a bridge while you wait for in-network care, or to handle routine refills your in-network doctor doesn't have time for.

Will my future UMR doctor honor what Ondoc prescribes?

Yes. Your refill is a normal pharmacy fill from a licensed provider — it appears in your pharmacy history and your future doctor can pick up from there.

UMR is the third-party administrator for self-funded employer plans inside the UnitedHealthcare network. Ondoc's clinicians are in-network for UMR members — we verify your specific employer plan's eligibility and benefits during intake, before your card is charged.

A licensed clinician completes the visit and bills UMR directly.

Refills & prior authorization

UMR plans typically use the OptumRx formulary, but your self-funded employer can customize tiers, exclusions, and copays. We check your plan's live formulary before approving any refill so you don't get hit with a surprise tier-3 cost.

UMR routes prior authorizations through OptumRx for most plans; some self-funded employers carve out PA to a separate PBM. Our clinician identifies the correct processor from your member ID and submits the PA electronically.
