PPI (Proton Pump Inhibitor)
Acid-blocking medication used for reflux and ulcer disease.
PPIs (omeprazole, pantoprazole, esomeprazole) shut down acid production in the stomach. They're highly effective for GERD and ulcer healing. Long-term use can lower magnesium, B12, and bone density slightly, so most clinicians try to use the lowest dose that controls symptoms.
