Telehealth

Also called: telemedicine, virtual visit

Healthcare delivered by video, phone, or messaging instead of in person.

Telehealth lets a licensed provider evaluate and treat many common conditions without an office visit. It's well suited to refills, follow-ups, rashes, UTIs, sinus infections, and mental-health care; it's not appropriate for emergencies, controlled substances without prior evaluation, or anything requiring a physical exam or in-person procedure.
