Doctor's note with Highmark BCBS

If you carry Highmark BCBS, you can request a doctor's note for missed work, school, or travel through a telehealth visit reviewed for your plan. A licensed clinician reviews your symptoms and issues a signed note.

Ondoc is in network with Highmark BCBS and accepts it for online visits. Your exact eligibility, active status, benefits, and plan applicability are verified by our insurance verification team.

Ondoc accepts self-pay and major commercial insurance. Medicare and Medicaid are not accepted.

FAQs for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield members

Does Highmark BCBS cover an online doctor's-note visit?

Most Highmark BCBS plans often include telehealth visits for acute symptoms (cold, flu, GI upset, etc.) at the same rate as an in-person visit. Select insurance during discovery to see Ondoc’s current payer status. Member-specific eligibility, active status, and benefits are verified by our insurance verification team.

What if insurance does not apply?

Self-pay is available for the Ondoc visit, and you choose whether to continue before any payment.

Can I use my Highmark BCBS HSA or FSA?

Yes. Telehealth visits and notes for medically documented absences are HSA / FSA eligible.
