Aetna does not typically require PA for first-line combined oral contraceptives, progestin-only, rings, patches for birth control. Brand alternatives may require step therapy.
Aetna requires prior authorization for GLP-1s, brand-name stimulants, and some specialty drugs. We handle the PA paperwork and fax it to Aetna.
